About Us

The Lucky 7 Casino is an enterprise of the Tolowa Indians of the Smith River Rancheria. We are located on the majestic, redwood-studded coastline of the beautiful, wild and scenic Pacific Ocean. When our Rancheria was established in 1906 we were the largest Rancheria in the State of California, consisting of 160 acres. During termination we lost all but a few acres of land, which consisted of an offshore rock, a cemetery, and a church. Today we have grown to over 500 acres of land in tribal ownership and over 1,200 tribal members. The Lucky 7 Casino started out in a doublewide module trailer in 1996 with approximately 60 machines. In 2001 we opened a new facility, which now offers 270 slot machines, Blackjack, Bingo, the House of Howonquet restaurant and a Fuel Mart/Convenience store with off sale liquor. We are in the process of a major expansion that will add a new conference/bingo area, new restaurant and double the size of the gaming area. Our plan is to have this completed in 2010. Through the leadership of the Smith River Rancheria Tribal Council and our vision of building a healthy, self-reliant community, we are working together with our local area to build a sustainable economy to benefit our tribal members as well as the local community by serving as the center of cultural, economic, civic and social activities. Our staff is continuing to optimize our efficiencies throughout all the Smith River Rancheria enterprises. External and internal customer service, which is the pillar of our business plan, remains a priority focus. Our goal is to bring a diversion to the “doom and gloom” state of the economy and assist our customers in getting away and enjoying themselves. After all, we are "The friendliest casino on the coast!"
